Surprised Liberal: You mean if I plead guilty there might be consequences?

A little adscam news for your weekend reading pleasure.

Benoît Corbeil, a former top federal Liberal Party official, sentenced Dec. 4 for influence peddling and fraud, then released about two weeks later, pending his appeal, claims he'll lose his job at the Université du Québec à Montréal if he's locked up. His lawyer, Michel Grenier, maintains the jail sentence and order to pay $117,315 to the Liberal Party of Canada was excessive. Grenier said that in pleading guilty to the charge, Corbeil expected an absolute discharge.

I guess that being a Liberal bagman today does not carry the same weight that it once did.

Enjoy your long weekend everyone.

Hey, I'm liberal and therefore entitled to my entitlements!

A Liberal entitlement seems to be no consequences.

All of those involved in adscam obviously think so as does Pablo Rodriquez and Ruby Dhalla. Denis Coderre must believe so, as do the NFLD Liberals who voted against the budget and the 3 Liberals who voted against the whipped LPC abortion motion.

Being Liberal means never having to say your sorry or suffer consequences.

Why was he employed there in the first place? This story has been going on forever.

Why wouldn't you want someone like Corbeil teaching at a university. He is a role model progressives everywhere can be proud of.

He was allowed to get a out of jail card during the Christmas Holidays and the media were not interested.

Did you miss the CBC week long expose and At Issue Panel discuss this problem?

Was that before of after the 'Jaffer Special'?

I hope he repays the liberal party at the same rate the leadership deadbeat have.

The Liberals get 117K and the taxpayer lose millions.

The judge should put a provision on the LPC that in order to get the money the Liberals must tell us which Quebec ridings got the illegal cash.
