The PM's secret weapon.....

An excellent Saturday read from Linda Diebel on the PM's secret weapon; Laureen Harper.

A couple of tidbits:

"Friends and observers describe a shrewd woman who appears to have had more influence in shaping her husband’s career and image than a multitude of professional spin doctors."

“They make one hell of a political team,” says Kinsella.

"She climbs ladders in old clothes to decorate rooms for charity events and endlessly publicizes the Ottawa Humane Society and other rescue organizations. She takes in foster cats that sometimes don’t make it, breaking hearts."

Do yourself a favour and read it all.

She is glamourous and down to earth at the same time. A beautiful woman who will shine at the G-20 and make all us Canadian gals proud.

That was awesome! Thanks for finding that. The sun is shining in Riding Mountain National Park and I can read about the all around Canadian women that is married to our great prime minister this morning. What a great way to start the day.
Thankyou!

An awesome woman married to Canada's most awesome prime minister. And continuing the awesome theme, check out Irvin Studin's article in yesterday's National Post, "Canada: Population 100 Million."

I'll summarize the article for you. Canada is awesome, and we need a population of 100 million to press that point.

I bet Laureen Harper has read it.

Really good read, shocked it came from Linda Diebel. Well written and entertaining.

It seems that even an Uber-Liberal like Diebel can't be nasty about Laureen Harper....that kind of says it all.

"Mrs. Harper works in the garden at Harrington Lake" is the picture for June, in this year's CPC calendar.

She played an important, symbolic role in appearing on behalf of PM Harper, during the 25th anniversary celebration of Brian Mulroney's victory in the 1984 election.

The headline at Bourque for the Diebel column :" THIS DISH CAN DISS", doesn't show much respect for our "First Lady".

What a great article, I want Mrs. Harper as my neighbour. This country would be a better place if there were more Laureen's around.

I remember when she lead on horseback some big parade in her hometown. There was a great photo of her that I could only see on blogging Tories, because I couldn't find it anywhere else in the media.

Hate to use Mrs. harper to ask a question-is there anyhting that can be done with this guy? Is he writing the ads for the liberals for the next election?
