The video Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal Party of Canada do not want you to see.

Because after all of these years they have yet to be able to spin it positively in any way, shape, or form.

It really is all about character.

BTW for those interested here are the numbers for the amount of times that Ignatieff used the words "We", "Us", "Our" and "Ourselves" in the 2minute and 8 second video above.

Updated with more of the same from Ignatieff:

And this is the same guy who is calling Stephen Harper "UnCanadian"
Of course, the MSM will claim this speech has been taken "out of context" and will move on to their next attempt at slandering the PM.

If a Republican had said this the Libs would be declaring fearmongering.

The real problem with this stuff is that the Libs. believe they can woo the leftists in this country.

They didn't do their homework very well. On the other hand it is why he didn't win the nomination the first time around.

That sounds like a guy that would have happily run for the President of the United States had he not had the misfortune of being born in Canada, doesn't it?

Ignatieff is a chameleon and clearly after reading and hearing so many things that he wishes would just disappear, disloyalty is a huge part of his character.

Just remember, HE DIDN'T come back to CANADA on his own, HE WAS RECRUITED. That's a very big deal!

Actually this sort of stuff is fuel for the NDP as well.

Okay, this guy makes a speech that implores Americans to react to and rise above the hatred that is being directed toward them by maintaining the high standards that they have for themselves and that were outlined in their constitution. I really don't see how this is a bad thing. This is the same type of speech that could be delivered to an audience made up of citizens of any western democracy. Listen to it again and replace "American" with "Canadian" or "Briton" or "Australian". Can you explain how/why this speech is bad?

Good stuff Alta A!
As much as some would like to see this (and similar stuff) aired on Sun TV I am doubtful that would happen. There is a severe libel chill in Canada, self censorship, fear of CBSC complaints, fear of the CRTC and then lawyers, lawyers, lawyers and SLAPP suits.

Sun will not be FOX North - it will be a fox puppy, a kit. JIMO

Ardvark ... you are just disapointed that Canada's first American Prime Minister wont be stopping in Alberta.

Don't forget the video of Ignatieff caressing his full body while saying "I am a Democrat from the tip of head to the bottom of my feet."

I have nothing against anyone for being or wanting to be an american-to each is own' But, he has no right no business to dare suggest or state that the PM STEPHEN HARPER a TRUE' Canadian from the tip of his head to the bottom of feet is 'Uncanadian' how dare he.

AA, you should have had the other tape of him exposing his disgust of canada.

The tories would appear to be in a strong position...so why do their supporters have to rely on this feeble crap?

Anon @ 9:54. Seriously? He used "We" "Our" "Us "Ourselves" a total of 22 times in 2 minutes and he was just speaking to his audience? Give me a break.

This man is supposed to be an intellectual and could have easily chosen other words to convey his message without pretending to be an American while doing so.

As for the rah rah pro American speech itself, it is fine, if it were delivered by an American, and not some arrogant Canadian trying to tell our neighbors to the south how tough it is to be them.

Does Ignatieff have US citizenship? If he doesn't why does he call the US his country?

I don't have a problem with him talking about America or about it being his country. That's when he was away and not even in politics.

The issue I have is:
Don't claim to know what it's like to be a Canadian and what we have enjoyed and endured over the last 35 years.

I mean you've only been back for the last 6 years. You weren't even here when the firt red book was printed.

And he wonders why his approval ratings are in the dump!!

I agree with anon above me here. This was an eloquent and heartfelt speech here. Hey I love America, and I call myself American, North American that is. But Iggy is playing the game of telling everyone what they want to hear when it works for him. How can I TRUST this guy? I don't. (real conservative)

Iggy's wife not allowed to vote.

She has applied for citizenship, and good for her for doing so.

BTW what does Ignatieff's wife have to do with anything? She is not running to be our PM.

Does this mean if Biffy could not be Prime Monister, he can take Obama's job. He has about the same chance - because he seems a more patarotic American than present Presaden. And he will promise even more than Obama - he has learned to tell "alledged false-hoods" to gain power in Canada.

Even Talaban Jack has more respect than Biffy in some polls. I wonder what would happen IF he got more seats than Biffy - and Coalition of Losers take over Canada with the Black-mail Party - Would Biffy humble himserlf to Deupty(sp) Prim Minister? I do not think he would be in that position for long, lol.
