BC Opposition MP's want the evil Stephen Harper to do their bidding.

Liberal Joyce Murray (Vancouver Quadra) and New Democrat Libby Davies (Vancouver East) want the PM to contact International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge and personally intervene, where the PM has no business getting involved, to resolve a dispute over the exclusion of female ski jumpers at next month's Winter Olympics.

Yes, these 2 MP's, one a Liberal and the other an NDP, want the Prime Minister of Canada to abuse his power, over step his bounds, and bully the International Olympic Committee on how to run their OWN event, on something that the Supreme Court of Canada has already ruled in favour of the IOC on.

These are the same people who have already looked foolish with the FALSE claims that the logo chosen by the Canadian Olympic Committee was influenced by the CPC, and also claimed, and again were proven wrong, that the route for the torch relay was also politically motivated.

Some days you just have to wonder just what is going on in the minds of the opposition in this country. Actually it is not 'some days' but everyday that these fools are in front of the press with their latest that make you wonder.

Libby Davies has a 'big mouth' let her intervene protest the IOC.

I suspect that the next thing the Liberals will ask for is the PM to intervene with the BOY SCOUTS to allow girls into their organization.

Before moving to Toronto this fall, Joyce Murray was my MP.

She's a disgrace.

And these mps belong to parties upset with the PM for abusing Parliament, democracy and whatever.
They have the nerve to go public with an attempt to have the PM do what they are objecting to with Proroguing parliament.

If libby and murray will ski jump, I support them and also would pay to watch.

And look, they even managed to work a Hitler reference into the story!

It described the situation as reminiscent of "the 1936 Berlin Olympics when the [Olympic organization] turned a blind eye to Hitler's fascist regime, which was even then implementing discriminatory policies against Jews that impacted Games that year."

Last time I checked, Olympics were run under the auspices of the "International Olympic Committe".
It seems to me that the "International" part of that might imply that deciding what sports are run and who competes just might be out of Canada's governments and courts jurisdictions.

I don't know about Murray, but if Davies ever landed from a ski jump we'd better be ready for about a 5 on the Richter scale

Bruce, they have enough avalanches in BC.

I had the opportunity to watch Eddie the Eagle, thanks to my neice' boss who purchased to tickets to every event in Calgary. He passed them out to staff and she got the Ski jump ones.
