Google News caught torquing headlines?

Google news Sept 4, 2009

The Real Headline:

Isn't it amazing how one little word can change everything.

Update: It has come to my attention that the original error may have been made by the National Post on this and not Google News.

H/T maz2 in the comments at BLY

I know I have said it before but BLY is a daily must read.

Strange. I always thought that Google news was automatically generated. Maybe the computer is biased?

Good point. How can auto generated headlines change?

What back room deal has been made between the Liberal Party and CTV/CBC?
I find the Liberal Bias undemocratic.

Will the MSM pick up this story?

Will the person responsible for editing the headline join the unemployment line?

I look forward to the MSM defend the editing of the headline by Google.

This can be a significant issue if we have repeated examples of anti-CPC bias in our reporting.

Actually it might have been the NP that changed the headline and maybe google didn't update the change.

Hunter is right. I read the article that article today and the NP did not include the word "no" when I read it. I read the article, scrolled up...but still thought the headline was a little off.

So the Post made the error. So much for biased computers.

I put a correction in the main post
