Question asked, question answered. Or was it?
Within a couple of hours of answering the simple question about what type of car he drives McCallum phoned The Star to retreat from those comments, offering this explanation in a voicemail: “I said the wrong thing without thinking. The fact of the matter is that I do not own a North American-made car.” He followed with an e-mail sent from his Blackberry that said: “To confirm message I left on your voicemail, to clarify, I do not own a North American made vehicle.” McCallum never divulged what kind of car he owns.
Well one might think that being caught in a lie like this could be detrimental to ones political career, that may not be the way it works in the Liberal Party of Canada led by Michael Ignatieff who on the very same day denied that he had said "We will have to raise taxes" at a
This should put McCallum into the front runner position for Finance Minister in an Ignatieff led government where emulating the leader will get you further ahead than telling the truth.

Not too surprising that JohnnyMac doesn't know [or won't admit] what his ride is.
He's always struck me as also being that guy who doesn't know whether or not his arse-hole has been punched, bored drilled or reamed.
Yeah. He'd make as good a Finance Minister as he did in the Defense post. Bluddy fool didn't even know the difference between Vimy and Vichy.
But one must admit - he was in a great cabinet. They were all as smart as little John was. That Cabinet was like something run by Dr. Caliguri. Even John's PM was a shipping magnate of a space cadet. PM Paul, was constantly confusing Normandy with Norway. Now.. . where was it our lads landed again??
'tis to weep.

This is a joke. Who does not know what type of car they drive?
Actually if I had made a joke, say about a blonde female who couldn't tell the difference between a Volkswagen and a Chevy. I would be crucified as being sexist and promoting the stereotype of the dumb blonde, because no one would be that dumb in real life.
Yet here we are with a Liberal MP who either is that dumb or just flat out lied.
Can you get your buddy Stelmach to get out of deficit?
I was so moved by Ralph Klein passionately defending the law that made deficits illegal. We had huge surpluses (which means overtaxation) and Alberta had the third lowest tax rates. Now, at the first sign of trouble your buddy Stelmach rams a deficit up our wallets. CAn you sort him out? Please.
Stelmach is not my buddy nor does he get much support around here because of his non conservative policies and his support for the AHRC.
I voted for Morton.
