Marc Garneau demonstrates the problems of the Liberal Party.

Does the Liberal Party of Canada have any idea what they stand for?

I don't think so.

Here is Liberal MP Marc Garneau 'lost in space' on CBC's Power & Politics with Evan Solomon from November 10th 2009.

Perhaps Garneau, Ignatieff's Quebec Lieutenant, should be more worried about this guy rather than trying to spin non existent Liberal policies and values on the CBC.

Update: from the comments Another blogger on Garneau's visit with the CBC.

Hey AA!

Just in case you wanted another blogger's point of view to back you up, see my commentary here.

Good to see someone else caught that stupidity...

Though Garneau is clearly at loss for words, I must say I admire the man. He is a loyal Liberal and is trying to put on a brave face for the current Party leader.

I agree, survival instinct would tell one to abandon ship. But in a sense it is refreshing to see someone stick to some good old fashioned party loyalty.

Garneau is a wonderful Canadian but obviously out of his element in politics.

I disagree with the video... Liberals do know what they stand for, they stand for getting themselves elected.

I guess getting yourself elected is the only Liberal value they know.

Garneau has those talking points down perfectly but looked rather confused when he got a reasonable, and my guess an unexpected, question from Solomon.

Bad CBC, for going off script like that.

It is not difficult in the Life of Liberals Values.

Drill Sergeant is the Liberal leader and the Liberal MP is Forrest Gump.

It goes like this.

Drill Sergeant: GUMP! What's your sole purpose in this army?!
Forrest Gump: To do whatever you tell me, drill sergeant!
Drill Sergeant: God damn it, Gump! You're a goddamned genius! Thats the most outstanding answer I have ever heard! You must have a goddamned I.Q. of 160! You are goddamned gifted, Private Gump! Listen up, people...
Forrest Gump: [narrating] Now for some reason I fit in the army like one of them round pegs. It's not really hard. You just make your bed real neat and remember to stand up straight and always answer every question with "Yes, drill sergeant!"
Drill Sergeant: This is one very intelligent individual! You lock your scuzzy bodies up behind that private and do exactly what he does, and you will go far in this man's army! Is that clear?!
Forrest Gump, Recruits: YES, DRILL SERGEANT!

That's what I LOVE about the Liberal Party members.... Always a clear and concise answer to every question.

Unlike the Conservatives, right?

No the CPC actually has policies.

Marc Garneau as if on cue provides a case in point for Chantel Hebert who wonders if the LPC "has reached the point of no return as a national institution."

It couldn't be happening to a more deserving group.

Poor Garneau, who I'm sure is a great guy, looks like he just farted in his space suit. He's been on a longer leash during space walks.

That was an utter embarrassment, but broadly representative, to the supposed NGP of Canada.
