CBC Man on the street is also Ignatieff's Man

What are the odds?

Last night CBC News did a story on H1N1 (what else is new) and they spoke with people waiting in line for the flu shot about their thoughts on the subject. One of those 'men on the street' that the CBC spoke with just happens to currently work for Michael Ignatieff and used to work for the CBC as a lawyer.

From The Globe and Mail: "The staffer in question is Mark Sakamoto, formerly a lawyer with the CBC. He is one of Mr. Ignatieff’s senior strategists and part of the so-called Toronto gang who have been with him since 2006. Mr. Sakamoto and his wife have a newborn. In a note to a colleague, Mr. Sakamoto denied he was a plant: “Not a plant. My wife and I were in line because my 6-week-old baby cannot be vaccinated. Caregivers for parents with children under 6 months are one of the priority groups. That's the sole reason that I was there.”

Could it just be a coincidence? Well yes it could be, but really what are the odds that the CBC would just happen to choose one of their former employees and current Ignatieff staffer out of a line up of hundreds of people to interview?

Time to buy a lottery ticket I guess.

Update: Video

CBC Twitter on the subject can be seen here. But does Mr. Sakamoto have any responsibility here to identify himself as a CBC employee (on leave?) I would think that CBC policy or their code of conduct would say that the answer is yes

Chucker's thoughts.

Original clip from "The National" is here. Mark Sakamoto says his piece around 38 seconds in. (h/t frmgrl @ Blue Like You).

If you check "The National" archives, CBC has replaced this clip with another, rather more positive one.

I'm confused as to why an Ottawa staffer would appear to be visiting a clinic in Metro Toronto, or could they not find anyone at the Toronto clinic to make a negative comment.

Thanks, I have updated the post.

If he is on leave from the CBC he should have identified himself to the reporter.

Here's a question, how many liberal lawyers you know would take time off to stand in line with their wife's to get their children a flu shot? What's amazing is that the CBC just happen to pick them out of how many hundreds of people waiting in line (must of had a bright liberal sign blinking on their foreheads). What's even more amazing is that this person once worked for the CBC. This has that Klownsella stench on it.

To the CBC's credit they did cut the interview for the later broadcasts, but there are still unanswered questions.

Should check your source. He isn't officially on leave. Continues to work for the CBC part time which is why they pulled it.

I have requested confirmation from the CBC. I know they are paying attention because they someone from the CBC has visited this page numerous times today.

If CBC does anything about this, it will be a whitewash like they did with Heather Malice. They will send the Gliberal/CBC lawyer somewhere out of sight for a few weeks, then return to business as usual and carry on bashing the Conservatives as if nothing happened.

Most likely they will simply pretend that nothing is wrong, and carry on bashing the Conservatives as if nothing happened.

A corrupt Liberal following a code of conduct - that's funny! lol...

Crooked CBC Liberals naturally use deception whenever they make up a story in order to conceal their agenda.
