Michael Ignatieff: Ready to take on PM Harper.

How can Michael Ignatieff possibly be ready to face off against PM Harper when he can't even find the courage needed to face his own party membership who voted against him in 2006?

He said last night that he already 'earned his stripes' at the last leadership convention.

If we follow that logic, then Peter MacKay should be acclaimed the next leader of the Conservative Party, I guess.

Ignatieff has earned nothing in politics. It all has been given to him on a silver platter.

It doesn't take much to become the Liberal leader anymore.
So maybe Iffy has indeed earned his Liberal stripes,
but he is not ready for Prime Minister time.

Thanks to Chretien and Adscam,
anyone with no connection to the previous Liberals is the best candidate.
An American and a Dipper,
are about as far removed from the liberal core as they could go.

Rae would have won the leadership race, had there been one.

But IMO the elites were more worried about Domie coming up the middle like Dion did,
because the Iffy/Rae camps are still at each others throats.

Wilson I think you are correct that Leblanc might have squeaked out the win if the Liberals had any confidence at all in their own members to allow them to vote.
