Justin Trudeau to vote against the Liberal non-confidence motion.

If there is any such thing as Liberal logic then Justin Trudeau must support his leader and vote against the Liberal's non-confidence motion later today.

Confused? Well so am I, but consider the following:

Here is what Justin had to say the other day in Kitchener Ontario when he mused that it is Prime Minister Stephen Harper who wants an election, and not his party leader, Michael Ignatieff. “Mr. Harper wants one desperately and he is going to try and bring this House down.”

Got that. PM Harper is the one wanting an election, and not Michael Ignatieff. Forget for a moment that it has been Mr. Ignatieff that has been saying that the Liberals will no longer support the Harper Government, that this government must be replaced, and that he has gone so far as to introduce a motion of non-confidence that if successful later today would trigger an election, flaky Justin is maintaining that it is the PM who wants an election and not Ignatieff.

So following along with this flawed example of Liberal logic in action, Justin has no other choice but to support his leader who he claims does not want an election and support the dictates of Liberal policy to not support the government by giving the PM the election that Justin claims the PM wants, by voting AGAINST the Liberal non-confidence motion coming up for a vote later today. Anything less would be hypocritical n'est-ce pas?

Still confused?

I remain so but the oxymoron of Liberal logic has always made my brain hurt.

Speaking of hypocrites: How is Judy Sgro going to vote later today? For those not following along at home, Judy recently said that “Ninety-nine per cent of us don't want an election.”

Update: As expected the hypocrite duo of Sgro and Trudeau voted for an election by supporting the non-confidence motion.

Ignatieff is faking it all to become PM.

Here you go folks the smoking gun. Ignatieff is faking the entire thing.

I guess that Michael Ignatieff really was not among friends that day.

Is anyone surprised considering that he said this in 2007 in the New York Times:"Politics is theatre. It is part of the job to pretend to have emotions that you do not actually feel."

Bring it on because Canada really can do better.

“The only thing I missed about Canada was Algonquin Park”.

And sure enough he filmed his first television ad there.

Damn right we can do better!

Update: It appears that the video is just as fake as Ignatieff is. From the strange outline around Iggy, to the mysterious moving background, it appears that this was filmed in a studio in front of a green screen.

That sure is a far cry from what he was saying in this video.

Bring it on!

Would Dion have pulled the plug?

With the current world wide financial problems and if the PM would not have pulled the plug on his government a little over 30 days ago, would Stephane Dion have finally got up enough nerve to vote non confidence in the government forcing an election?

I say would say that yes he would have and we would be heading into an election for the middle of November rather than this upcoming Tuesday.

What say you?

Drop off a comment or vote in the poll on the side bar.

How long?

IF the election campaign does start in the next few days how long do you think it will take before we hear Liberals saying the following:

A vote for the NDP is a vote for the conservatives.

And my personal favorite, which pretty much means that the Liberals will have already given up on winning the election: We must fight to ensure that Stephen Harper does not get a majority.

I expect we will hear both statements in one form or another in the up coming 40 or so days, but when?

Ha Ha!!

Ha Ha!!*

Stephane Dion: "We're ready. We're well-organized and we're determined to win this election,"

Only one week before they expect to be plunged into a federal election campaign, some Liberal MPs are still hoping to make "adjustments" to the centrepiece of their party's platform -- the risky proposal to impose a carbon tax. (The Green Shift**)

Liberal agriculture critic Wayne Easter said on the carbon tax, "We need to boil that down, we need to figure what changes have to be made to accommodate the concerns that are raised." "And there are concerns. We don't deny that."

Robert Thibault, a Nova Scotia Liberal MP said: "In my mind, it's a statement of principles, it's not a recipe."

More evidence backing up Dions "ready" claim from the article:

Some Liberal insiders complain that continued infighting among factions in Quebec has turned that province into "a disaster zone" -- as one well-connected Grit called it -- for the party.

Some veteran Liberals disagree, especially when it comes to Quebec where some Liberals remain furious with Dion's Quebec lieutenant, Senator Celine Hervieux-Payette. They blame her for failing to find candidates for half the ridings in the province while blocking potentially strong candidates, such as former MPs Liza Frulla and Helene Scherre.

Yup. They are ready.

It's back with a vengeance.

This past Wednesday Stephane Dion was in Oakville and gave us a hint about the Liberal election strategy when he said the following "The next election will be about policies, but it will also be about politics." "It will be the battle between fear and hope," Thats right folks; The Campaign of Fear™ is about to make a big comeback (Not that they have ever really stopped since the 2006 campaign), and the Liberals again hope that the voters will buy into their fear campaign.

It has already begun with Dion attempting to open up the very divisive abortion debate, and while this level of fear mongering might be expected from the Liberals based on their campaigning history; the Liberal leader sunk well into the gutter and reached an all time low when he said this: "These are the same people – Mr. Flaherty, Mr. Baird, Mr. Clement – who are responsible [for] what happened in Walkerton, who privatized [Ontario's] propane inspection, and they want to do something equivalent about food inspections,"

Yes, you read that right. Dion is attempting to lay the blame for the Walkerton tragedy and the recent propane explosion in Toronto, along with the tragic deaths associated with both events, on to the Harper Government! So much for taking the high road Stephane you ass.

Truly pathetic. That may be the lowest thing I have ever heard in Canadian politics and I am at a loss for words for the level of disgust that I feel right now for Stephane Dion. What ever level of respect I had for the man is now permanently gone, and if he figured that somehow this crap was going to rally his base for support, he is even dumber than I ever imagined possible.

Bring it on Dion; you have rallied the wrong side.

Watching the wheels fall off the big red machine.

Is there anyone out there who is really surprised by this? Dion is again backing away from forcing an election.

When the wheels are falling off the Liberal Party machine, what else is he to do?

The latest attempt to smear the government, this time with the "in and out" fiasco, is blowing up in their faces as their own hypocrisy is exposed, and more of the story makes it's way to the public.

On the policy front the Liberals are a mess. Trying to convince Canadians that having them pay more money for taxes so the Liberals can spend it on big expensive programs of very dubious nature is going to be an very difficult, if not impossible, task. Their past record speaks for itself, and Canadians To make matters worse for the Liberals, the Conservative Government is passing real legislation that that matters to Canadians.

Internally things are not any better for the LPC. The knifes continue to be sharpened, and those doing the sharpening are not even bothering to try to hide it. What does this say to the voting public about the leadership of Dion as these types of stories become even more frequent in the pages of the MSM?

Financially things are not going that well for the LPC, and the same can be said for Dion's repayment of his own personal debt from his leadership campaign. I guess Dion should thank Bob Rae after he successfully took Elections Canada to court in order to get back his "non refundable" deposit paid for the leadership race, as Dion sure could use the money. Come to think of it, so could the LPC.

The wheels are falling off the big red machine, and I predict that it is going to get worse before it gets better, but then again, there is always the environment issue to run on. Good luck with that.

15 years of Liberal domination ended for Edmonton Millwoods

Congratulations to Carl Benito for his win in Edmonton Millwoods over incumbent Liberal MLA Weslyn Mather. Carl worked very hard and seemed to be everywhere in the riding during the campaign and in the end his hard work paid off as Millwoods has elected their first PC MLA in 15 years.

As a quick side note, Carl Benito has again pledged to give his salary this year to a scholarship program to help area youths. That is approx $75,000 out of his own pocket.

Well done Mr. Benito.

And Weslyn, if the way that you treated myself with a total lack of response to emails sent to both of your MLA offices was representative of the way you dealt with your other constituents; the loss was well deserved.

Rick Mercer, modern day political Nostradamus.

Rick Mercer must be some kind of seer of the Canadian political scene, and frankly his Nostradamus like powers scare me.

----------

It is the only logical explanation, otherwise how could the second segment from The Rick Mercer Report that aired earlier tonight on the CBC possibly be explained?

Sometime recently he had the "vision", perhaps while he was in the centrifuge or perhaps it was in a dream, but at some point Rick Mercer foresaw the future. Then he rented a choir, some acrobats, a couple of unicycle riding jugglers, procured some low budget but flashy pyrotechnic devices, rehearsed what by Canadian television standards would have to be called an extravagant musical number, filmed it all, did the editing and still managed to get it to air the same day as the Federal Budget comes out.

How did he know Dion would again cave? I mean with Liberal MPs, all of of the bloggers who thought otherwise, , and MSM pundits thinking an election was near; how could Rick Mercer know this in advance? And will he promise to only use this power for good and not evil? That my friends is the real question.

I think after I call CSIS, I am going to line my walls with tinfoil and hope Rick Mercer doesn't mind being exposed.

A few thoughts on Outremont

This result is not really a surprise to anyone but a few deluded Liberals who thought everyone else was wrong and they would pull it off in the end.

How can some claim that the Bloc losing support is an ominous sign for their future, but the Liberals losing support is just some kind of weird anomaly?

BTW, Thank you PM Harper for setting the conditions for the demise of the Bloc.

Hey Stephane, do you still think the fiscal imbalance never really existed in the minds of Quebecois?

How can Dion not be blamed for this as he hand picked the candidate and parachuted him into the riding? The same thing he wants to do to women all over Canada against every principle of grass roots democracy; all because it is the 'pc' thing to do and he thinks he knows better.

Would J. Trudeau have faired better? Or perhaps another candidate chosen by the local Libs?

Does anyone else think that the Liberals are going to find a way to like the next thrown speech a lot more now?

It is a good thing that Lizzy didn't pull the Green Party candidate, or else the NDP would have only won by 16 percent instead of nearly 20.

How do some Liberals figure that bad mouthing Iggy and using him as a scapegoat will make him more of a team player?

And while I am on the subject of Iggy, I wonder if he favours the Ginsu over the trusty butcher knife? Only time will tell.

The media smells blood, and that blood is Dion's. This story is not going to die and will linger much longer than any Liberal would like it to; all due to the MSM.

Does anyone else think that somewhere out there Frank McKenna and John Manley are laughing hysterically right now?

Dion and May: aka The New Red Green Show

Rumour has it that sometime later today Stephane Dion and Elizabeth May will be holding a joint press conference to announce that the Liberals will not be fielding a candidate against May in the next federal election. CTV has the story here.

Wow; Dion is demonstrating his leadership skills again as he shows a total lack of respect for every Liberal supporter in Central Nova. I wonder how the local Liberal EDA is taking to the news that all the work they have done for the LPC in the riding has been a complete and utter waste of time and effort all because the dear leader Dion has dictated it so. I think the sound of Liberal Party Membership Cards being ripped in half is echoing all across the riding right about now.

To think that some Liberals wonder why they are having problems at the grass roots level. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

My apologies to The Red Green Show.

-----------------------
Update 10:40 am: I just watched the Red Green show live on CTV Newsnet and it is now official. May has just sold out her own party and Dion has taken the 308 riding strategy from the Liberal convention and tossed it out the window.
