Helena Guergis beat me up and stole my lunch.

Traffic has been kind of slow lately so I figured I would try to get picked up by National News Watch. For those of you that don't know, NNW had a link up yesterday to this story and continued to keep the link up even though within a short period of time the story was debunked by many people, including the author of the blog that the Hill Times blog entry was supposedly based on.

One good truth deserves another, so here is my 'truth'.

Helena Guergis beat me up and stole my lunch.

Wow. That was kind of liberating. As my therapist says; the road to healing starts with being able to speak about traumatic events, and let me tell you the day that Helena beat me up and stole my lunch will live in infamy in the annals of my personal traumatic events.

It also feels good to join the pile on; you should give it a try as well. I hear that it is all the rage at present.

Come on National News Watch, what are you waiting for? Do I need to write a letter to my MP to get some action from the press on this outrage?

  1. NNW is the enema of the blogosphere newsworld, imo and if someone comments on an article from there, I feel compelled to consult my virtual therapist, immediately but I respect your desire to have a momentary rush and be linked to their BS gossip dept and see how long you can stay there.

I've heard that they like that sort of stuff and they accept all or at least most of the crap that the NI won't touch. (sarc)

  4. Oh my AA! Isn't Tiger Woods keeping them busy enough today but congratulations and how refreshing to know what their focus for the betterment of this nation is during this latest absurd gossip cycle.

Maybe we should suggest they find the AC employee or perhaps someone will leave 'the security tapes' in a bathroom somewhere.
Surely there is a briefcase they've missed or a bathroom break. No wafers?

I guess MI's ditch digging suggestion has no merit, hey?

I can't wait for your tearful retelling of that fateful day on CTV Newsnet.

  6. Ardvark, you are welcome to come over and have lunch with us ... just be careful we live in Simcoe Grey, where the Gurgis family gang roams.

  7. I left the worst part out.

I heard from anonymous conservative sources that Stephane Harper and the PMO put her up to it!

Syncro, I was hoping for CBC and the Evan Soloman show myself.

If you're shooting for those heights some repressed memories involving inappropriate touching would surely seal the deal.

Anyways...good luck, I'll be flipping between Evan and Tom this afternoon to see how it turn out.

  9. We will see how much patience Harper has for the next person that screws up. (real conservative)

  10. Ardvark you are a genius.

I had such a great laugh over this.

  11. I wouldn't be surprised if National News Watch picks up your 'stolen lunch' story. (Of course, they'll practice 'journalistic integrity' by stating this as an 'unconfirmed report'.)

Today's NNW earth-shattering headline courtesy of Jane Taber is that Rahim Jaffer made a voluntary tax-deductible charitable donation. (Shameless!)

The media has jumped the shark on this story - especially that twit Taber.

  12. Send your post to bigcitylib or BCer over at Liblogs,
NNW and kady will read it there.

  13. Does anybody read beyond the headlines that grabb attention?
In the latest pile on of Jaffer and Guergis we have this malicious headline thrown out

First a plea bargain, now a tax break
    for Rahim Jaffer
When we take the time to read the article we find that Jaffer made a $500 voluntary charitable contribution and is thus entitled to a tax receipt and an income tax rebate as does everyone else who does the same.
Do we have good reason to question the motives of the media when they put out this pernicious and harmful headline?

  14. o/t so far 33,176 viewings of PMs youtube interview.
If even so few as 10% of those viewings were from Canadians not normally engaged in politics, it was a great success...and PMSH should do it regularly!

  15. Not a very catchy title. Now, "I had an affair with Helena in PEI" would really get Taber going.

    Media makes Afghan document public,
    but redacted it first!

''Marks identifying the source of this document have been removed.''

So our media is justified in not revealing a source...but sees no justification in Government not revealing info that could put our troops and nation at risk.....
I'm thinking our privacy laws apply to both

  17. Sorry to rain on the parade, but a charitable donation does not result in a tax rebate or refund. If that 500.00 is his only donation, it will have no effect on his 2010 return and would be carried fwd to another year.
I think a lot of people out there think that the total amount of a charitable donation results in increasing your non refundable credits. Only a portion of said donation does that. Just finished a return where total donations exceeded 950.00 and it resulted in a 245.00 increase to the nrtc.
    Increased the refund by 30.00.
And who let out the info about said donation. That org is off my list from now on. Funny that the PMs donation to the Red Cross for Haiti hasn't been published yet.

  18. In QP she destroyed Anita Neville and the Liberals empty Pink Books.

It was funny and she got a standing ovation.

  19. Fife reads your blog, yikes. And he still manages to spread stories from unconfirmed sources as fact.
If she is to sue anyone it should be the AC employee (if in fact he/she exists) who sent a letter (if it exists, never seen it) to Wayne. And then her husband should sue whoever released the facts about his donation.
A note to iggy, Rae looks pretty comfortable in that leaders chair. His white hair really makes him stand out in that front row.

  20. MaryT, it is easier for the national media like FIFE to read blogs than to actually go out and do a proper job themselves.
So AA, when you want to poke fun at our mps with that sort of headline' which you wrote on Helena, may sound different to us but to FIFE, they use this headline and all the negative that comes with it to then be twisted and disjointed by the national media.

Remember always that the national media is not there for the public but to protect the liberals and their corruption and they will do so by attacking anyone. Their credibility is in the garbage.

  21. AA, On CPAC, after the Question Period was over followed by mps who gave their speech on NDP motion 'PROROGATION' starting from Layton and so on.
When Jay Hill stood to give his version on the topic he was very good he mentioned Chretien's, Rae's Dalton's prorogation as well others who had prorogated.
Why I ask is that I tried to search for that video of JAY'S speech as well as his colleague (can't remember how to spell his name), anyway, he too gave his own version on PROROGATION.
Can you help me find that video?

Date of the prorogation speechs was on March 17,2010.
PS. I think that we will enjoy what HILL said
